I have a filter on my phone and videos won't play. Why?
Your filter is doing its job. It blocks YouTube's video servers — and every FilteredTube video, even though it's pre-approved, plays through YouTube's official player. So the app opens fine, but the video itself can't arrive. Ask your filter company to allow these for FilteredTube: filteredtube.app, www.youtube-nocookie.com, googlevideo.com, i.ytimg.com, and www.youtube.com. What is FilteredTube?
FilteredTube is a video service for families who want video without the fight. Every video is reviewed against one written standard before it can appear — so when you press play, the decision has already been made. No feeds, no comments, no rabbit holes. One membership, everything included.
How does approval work?
Every video is judged against one written standard before it can appear — doubt means it stays hidden. There are only three answers: open, hidden, or closed. Doubt never opens a video, and closed is closed — no exceptions, bought or granted. Nothing unreviewed is ever shown, even when systems fail.
What's in the catalog?
Torah — shiurim, parsha, halacha, mussar, chassidus, and more, from the speakers families actually ask for. Jewish music, men's and women's. Kosher entertainment and storytelling. The catalog grows every single day, and every addition passed the same written standard first.
What are the tiers?
Two. Standard shows everything approved. Strict narrows an account to Torah only. Any account can be made stricter with one tap; loosening it back is reserved for the plan owner. The standard itself never bends — tiers only choose how much of the approved world an account sees.
What is Kids mode?
A one-tap way to hand a device to a child. The whole app narrows to kids-approved Torah, a daily watch cap you choose counts only actual watching, and the PIN you set is the only way out. When the day's time is up, the screen locks until a parent unlocks it.
What does the number on the homepage mean?
That number is the exact count of videos approved under the written standard — live from our records, updating as new approvals land. It is never rounded, never estimated, never inflated. When it says 8,510, there are 8,510.
Family plans & seats
One membership can carry the whole family: $9.99/month for 3 accounts, $14.99/month for 6. Every person gets their own sign-in, their own favorites and history, and their own settings. Accounts are added from Plan & family in the app.
Why one stream at a time?
Each account plays on one screen at a time. Press play on a second device and it will ask you to stop the first — or add family accounts so everyone has their own. It keeps memberships honest and family pricing fair.
I searched for a video and it isn't there. Why?
Three possibilities. It may simply not be reviewed yet — ask for it: open Library → Requests, paste the link, and the review usually answers on the spot. It may be hidden — the review couldn't be sure, and doubt stays hidden until a deeper look clears it. Or it's closed — it broke the written standard, and closed is closed.
Do ads play?
None from us — ever. No ads sold, no sponsorships injected, nothing interrupting on our side. The honest fine print: some videos play through YouTube's official player, and YouTube may show its own ad on some of those videos. That's the toll of playing by the official rules — we add nothing on top of it.
What devices does it work on?
Any modern browser — computer, tablet, or phone — at filteredtube.app. To install it like an app: on iPhone, open filteredtube.app in Safari → Share → "Add to Home Screen." On Android, open it in Chrome → menu → "Add to Home screen" (or use the Android app from our site). It signs in once and stays signed in.
Billing, canceling, and signing in
Billing lives in the app under Profile → Manage billing — upgrade, change the card, or cancel anytime; no phone calls needed, no questions asked. Signing in is passwordless: enter your email, tap the link we send, done. No password to forget.
